Ca’ d’Zan, the iconic Sarasota mansion of John and Mable Ringling, is a fairytale on its own. This past fall, our Tailored Twig design team collaborated with an incredible group of wedding professionals to bring Christina and Grant’s fantasy wedding vision to life.

Christina’s bridal bouquet, as well as the wedding party’s bouquets, really showcase the whimsical colors and lush textures of the entire wedding design.
The wedding party bouquets, in shades of pink, and lavender were filled with delicate spray roses, and larger roses in unique colors like Cupcake Frosting, and Blue Curiosa. The soft draping of seeded eucalyptus and Italian ruscus framed the incredible rose bouquets.
Christina’s hand tailored bridal bouquet incorporated many of the same roses adding in beautiful pops of color with brilliant pink and orange garden roses.

Grant and the gentlemen in the wedding wore delicate boutonnieres of brightly colored spray roses, eucalyptus seeds, and soft pink astilbe wrapped in black satin ribbon.

After the couple’s first look in the tower of Ca’ d’Zan, Christina and Grant, surrounded by family and friends, gathered on the marble terrace for a bayfront wedding ceremony at sunset.
Our design team created a one-of-a-kind wedding structure as a backdrop for the couple to exchange their wedding vows. A collection of nine gold-toned vessels stood above a base of greenery and nearly three dozen chunky, cream-colored pillar candles.
The tall gold vessels, standing side by side, helped to create a wall of flowers. The vessels spilled over with brilliantly colored roses in incredible hues of pink, purple, cream, and orange. Watermelon pink snapdragons and pink river designer delphinium added some height and a wispy texture to the backdrop.

After the incredible wedding ceremony, the terrace on the banks of the Sarasota bay was transformed for a spectacular nighttime reception. The mansion with its glazed terracotta inlays and colored glass added to the fairytale design. Soft up-lighting, crystal chandeliers, and hundreds of candles of every type surrounded the space and added layer upon layer of lighting.

Rustic wooden tables and clear acrylic chairs allowed the floral creations to stand out. Soft pink table runners wound in banyan root framed a cascade of unique glass and gold vessels overflowing with soft tones of roses, ranunculus, light pink frill lisianthus, pink campanula, and waxflower.
Arrangements on tall gold frame risers seemed to float over guests’ heads. Modern gold table numbers, textured pink glass charger plates, custom menu cards, and luxurious pink napkins wrapped in ruscus and astilbe added another dimension of luxury.

The space where the newlyweds had exchanged their wedding vows was transformed to display their magical wedding cake. A large round table was draped in flowing pink velvet. An oversized gold cake riser was framed by additional pillar candles.
The couple’s breathtaking four-tiered wedding cake in gold and white marble tones incorporated details of the Ca’ d’Zan façade. The round wedding cake was divided into two and filled with dozens of incredibly colored roses and pink waxflower.
Congratulations Christina and Grant, your fairytale wedding was truly magical.
Thank you to the team of wedding professionals our Tailored Twig team had the pleasure of working with.
